Balancing Service Providers (BSPs) can register from 19 June 2024 via Partners in Energy.
A central register of certified BSPs is necessary to be able to perform various (market) processes in the context of balancing services.
Want to become a certified BSP? You need to apply to TenneT for certification as a BSP and then register in the Registry of Market Participants to progress through the process. The three steps are explained below.
This is a prerequisite for registration in the Registry of Market Participants. Request BSP certification from TenneT.
Once you have obtained BSP certification, you will be referred to EDSN via Partners in Energy for registration in the Registry of Market Participants. To submit your BSP registration, you need eHerkenning (a single standardised login system) at confidence level 3. After submission of your registration, you will receive feedback within 4 working days. Start your registration here.
After registering as a BSP, you must complete pre-qualification for each allocation point. You organise this through your contact at TenneT.
When supply and demand in the Netherlands are insufficiently balanced, TenneT will ask participants to assist in restoring the balance. A number of defined standard balancing products provided by a BSP are used for this.
For questions about certification and the pre-qualification process by TenneT, please contact the TenneT Customer Care Center at [email protected]. If you have a question about registering in the Registry of Market Participants, please contact the EDSN service desk at [email protected].
